Intensive Revision Course for MRCS Part A

This two-day course by Doctors Academy will provide the attendee with an overview of basic physiological principles, consolidate the candidate's core and applied surgical knowledge in anatomy and relevant pathology, and provide a focussed revision of pertinent topics as tested in the exam.

It is suitable for candidates appearing for

  • UK Intercollegiate MRCS Exams (Part A and Part B)
  • Master of Surgery Exams
  • Arab and American Board Exams.

ABOUT THE EXAM:

The MRCS Part A exam consists of two distinct but interrelated components (Applied Basic Science and Principles of Surgery-in-General) that are tested on the same day. One part consists of Single Best Answer questions (120 minutes; 135 questions) & the other part comprises Extended Matching Questions (120 minutes 135 questions). This course, using example questions, will help the candidate prepare for both the components.


   



MRCS Part B and OSCE Courses

We are presently conducting the Oral, Clinical and Communications Part of this course in a Five-day intensive review of all the essential things you need to know on how to pass the exam. It is conducted in a hospital-like setting and is taught by Dr. Stuart Enoch from the UK.

Day 1 & 2 : Applied Basic Sciences

  • Surgical and Applied Anatomy
  • System Specific Pathology
  • Microbiology
  • General Pathology
  • Cancers
  • Principles of Surgery
  • Genetics
  • Statistics and Applied Surgical Sciences

8 out of 18 OSCE stations tested in the exam will be covered during this 2 day course


Day 03 : Clinical and Procedural Skills

  • This hands-on course, that covers 2-3 out of 18 stations tested in the exam will allow candidates to perform practical tasks that will be tested in the exam.

Day 04 : Clinical Examination

  • This course will cover approximately 4 out of 18 stations tested in the exam. Candidates will perform the following clinical examinations on simulated patients


Day 05 : Communication Skills

  • This course will cover approximately 4 out of 18 stations in the exam. Candidates will engage in a number of role-play scenarios which cover the following areas:
